Allen Goodman
Drums and Leader

It all started with summer gigs in the Catskills of NY State, but he went on to play in recording studios, in bands and as a member of the NBC TV Orchestra and accompany the world's greatest singers: Johnny Mathis, Dinah Shore, Peggy Lee, Liza Minnelli, among others. He owned a jazz club in LA, was nominated for several Emmy awards, and was the music producer for a children's series on PBS. You can hear Allen on the original sound track of the "George of the Jungle" cartoon series (not to mention "Tom Slick" and "Super Chicken").

Danny Flahive
Bass

Danny has played with a number of Desert residents, such as Mike Costley, Frankie Randall, Ted Herman, Ron Kalina, Bob Corwin & brother Larry Flahive. He has played the Idyllwild Jazz Fest, the La Quinta Arts Fest and has performed with Keely Smith, and Vinnie Falcone. He also plays with Pete Christlieb, Buddy Greco and Lezlie Anders.

Hal Linden
Clarinet

Hal is a member who plays with the Band when his schedule allows. He is an accomplished actor/singer/musician who has earned two Emmys and a Tony Award. The star of the memorable "Barney Miller" television series began his show business career as a clarinet player and later toured as a singer with the Sammy Kaye, Bobby Sherwood & Boyd Raeburn bands.

Don Shelton
Alto & Soprano Sax, Flute & Woodwinds and vocals

Don was a member of the Hi-Lo's, arguably the best vocal group ever, and formed the Singers Unlimited with Gene Puerling. Don is in demand as a member of several bands in LA, notably Bob Florence and Clare Fischer. He travels around the country to perform with other notable musicians and he's often seen on stage or in the orchestra at our own McCallum Theater.

Stan Watkins
Pocket Trumpet & Flugehorn and vocals

Stan was with the Air Force Band of the Golden West before he began freelancing here in So. CA, where he has worked with such greats as Brian Setzer, Barry Manilow, The Temptations, Four Tops, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme and Johnny Mathis - also Latin music greats Tito Puente and Celia Cruz.

Kent McGarity
Trombone and Bass Trumpet

Kent played and recorded with Woody Herman, Dick Johnson, the Artie Shaw Orchestra and Slam Stewart, Jack Maheu & Salt City Six, Muggzie Gutt & His Matriculators and Paul Squire & the Orange Peels. Recently an original composition was premiered at the Idyllwild Jazz Festival.
