It started with the hunch that there is an enthusiastic audience for swinging jazz of the kind that was played by Louis Armstrong right up to Charlie Parker, from trad to be-bop. Five years later The Desert Cities Jazz Band is a weekly habit for a loyal and knowledgeable SRO crowd.
The combined experience of the 7 members of the DCJB includes recording studios, road bands, TV and Broadway; their careers have taken them around the world to venues from Carnegie Hall to the London Palladium to Albert Hall, to the Sydney Opera House, as well as NY, Chicago and LA jazz clubs – in short, they've done it all.
